Mr. Schneider
I believe that I’ve been “called” to use my God-given experiences, skills and talents to serve in a variety of ways to help share the message of Hope in Jesus Christ and to help provide a vital Christian education for young people. I’ve been a part-time MRLH faculty member, teaching science and religion, since 2003 (as my “third” career) and my primary focus has been to develop the wetland mitigation project here on our school site along Swan Creek. I received my undergraduate degree in Biology from Valparaiso University with the intention of being a wildlife biologist and, while it’s taken me several decades, I feel that I’m now serving the Lord in that capacity through my Wetlands Study course and related community activities.
I have graduate degrees in Public Service from Western Kentucky University and in Education (with an Environmental Science focus) from Pacific Lutheran University. I’ve also completed post-graduate work in Organizational Development and Human Resource Management with Columbia University. I currently hold a national certification as an Occupational Health and Safety Technologist. I’m retired from active service in the US Army and from Weyerhaeuser (my “first” and “second” careers respectively).
I’m active in a variety of community-based organizations and currently serve as President of the Concordia Lutheran School Board of Directors as well as Vice President of my congregation (Immanuel Lutheran in Puyallup) and also assist in leading our Stephen Ministry Team there. I’m presently taking classes in the NW District Lutheran Church Missouri Synod’s Leadership Advancement Program (LAP) to become a Licensed Deacon and to continue serving the Lord in my “fourth” career!
I live between Orting and South Prairie (above the valley on Crocker Hill) with my wife, Joy, and six cats (four inside and two outside)…we enjoy outdoor activities and service to others in our Lord’s name.
