Mrs. Elliott

Greetings! My name is Sarah Elliott, and I am so excited to begin this Call at MRLH because it is a combination of a few things I love: God, teaching, and working with young people! (The mountain view's not too shabby, either!)

I have a Bachelor's degree in Christian Education (and certification as a DCE in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod) and a teaching credential for middle and high school math and science. I also have a Master's degree in Education Curriculum & Instruction.

I am married to Tim who is in the Coast Guard Reserves after nearly five years active duty, and is also now a student at PLU, majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Biology (can you tell we're a science family!?). We also have a son, Noah, who turned one this summer! He is such a joy and blessing in our lives! The birth of our son, and understanding the love we have for him, really personifies, for me, the incredible love my Heavenly Father has for each of us! We also have an awesome dog named Bear, who is a Border Collie mix.

Our hobbies and leisure time activities include anything and everything outdoors! We love to camp, hike, kayak, snowboard, etc. It's been fun sharing those "adventures" with little Noah! We love the opportunity to invite others along with us in our adventures in God's GREAT outdoors! If you want to try something new outdoors, just ask!

If I could be anyone in the Bible, I would be Shadrach, Meshach, or Abednego! When faced with the fiery furnace if they did not denounce their faith, they boldly professed that their God would save them. They even went so far as to say that even if God didn't save them, they still trusted Him and would not denounce their faith! I would love to have their same boldness of faith in all circumstances! So often, when we study science, it is easy to question our faith when the two are in conflict; what we read and believe in God's Word is not always the same message the world tells us! May we all have that same boldness of faith as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego this year!

I am so excited to walk this learning journey with you! Please feel free to come to me with any questions you may have; I hope you will find me approachable and willing to help in any way I can! Welcome to E120 - "The Lab"!

Blessings in Christ,
Mrs. Elliott
