Mr. Hanson
Greetings! I am excited for the opportunity to tell you a bit about myself. At MRLH this year I am teaching Geometry, PE, Theater and Computer. It has been and continues to be a very exciting year for me in that I have returned to MRLH and resumed doing what I love, namely teaching! This year marks my sixth year of teaching and my second year at MRLH. As a coach of the Debate and Forensics Team, I stay very busy from September through February, but teaching the art of public speaking in a challenging, competitive environment is a true joy to me and very beneficial to all of the competitors.
I grew up in the southern suburbs of Kansas City, Kansas. After high school I attended Concordia University in Seward Nebraska. During my time at Concordia I competed in Parlimentary Debate, founded and helped lead a campus worship team that still exists today, and studied in both Belize and India. After graduating Mrs. Hanson and I got married and moved to Bukit Sentul, Indonesia to begin our teaching careers. We taught at a school which used the International Baccalaureate curriculum. After four years, we decided it was time to be closer to our families and Mrs. Hanson accepted a call to MRLH. Last year we were blessed with a daughter named Grace Annalouise Hanson. She's a beautiful little handful!
When I'm not at school I enjoy doing just about anything outside. Rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering and cycling are my favorites. Washington truly is an amazing place to experience the diversity of God's creation.
