At Mount Rainier Lutheran High young people are seen as having been given the gift of life from God.  This is reflected in the theme for the current academic year, "Abundant Power at Work," from Ephesians 3:14-21. 

Paul tells the Ephesians, "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."

According to Mount Rainier's mission statement, MRLH is "Christ-centered."  This leads the school to be a community of people learning together with Christ as the focus of life.  The values and ethics of Christian interaction permeate campus life for students regardless of background , and life is lived in response to God's love as Paul describes. 

The MRLH community will focus this year on celebrating daily God's Abundant Power at Work, giving thanks for His many blessings, and dedicating itself to His service.

MRLH is supported by both LCMS and ELCA congregations and is affiliated with Concordia Lutheran School, Tacoma.
