Dance Team
2010-11 Season Highlights
The Mount Rainier Lutheran High Hawks added an enormous boost in spirit at the basketball games this year with the addition of a dance team. In watching the team this year, one would not have been able to tell these were the inaugural efforts from this talented squad. The team had members that have danced for many years and other members who had never danced a beat in their life. With this wide range of talent, there were many opportunities for growth as well as mentorship and leadership. The 13 girls that made up the team gelled to become a complete unit over the season. Led by the coaching and choreography of Terilyn Ackerman, the Hawk Dance team performed four different routines over the course of only two months. With the addition of the Dance Team, Mount Rainier has found another way to encourage fine arts and the God-given talents our students have. God has given these young ladies the energy and gifts to bring the crowd into the “spirit” of a basketball game and it will be very exciting to see what they have planned for the 2011-2012 school year!
