| PE 101 | 9-12 | Physical Education I | This course is an introduction to team sports. The focus will be on basic skills and rules for sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc. Students will be encouraged to concentrate on the enjoyment of the game and the gratification of exercise rather than on winning and losing. Students will be evaluated on participation, effort, and attitude in class. |
| PE 201 | 9-12 | Physical Education II | This course is a continuation of the team sports covered in Physical Education I. The focus will be on skills and rules for sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc. Students will be encouraged to concentrate on the enjoyment of the game and the enjoyment of exercise rather than on winning and losing. Students will be evaluated on participation, effort, and attitude in class. Written and skill tests may also be used to assess student progress and knowledge. |
| PE 301 | 9-12 | Physical Education III | This course focuses on life-time fitness and less team oriented sports. The goal of this class is to expose students to games and activities that they can participate in for a lifetime and fill their leisure time with. Some of the games that will be played include: badminton, pickle ball, and ultimate frisbee. Students will be introduced to different types of group gym classes such as step aerobics, kickboxing, yoga, and pilates. Students will be introduced to weightlifting. Students will be evaluated on participation, effort, and attitude in class. Written and skill tests may also be used to assess student progress and knowledge. |
| PE 401 | 11-12 | Lifetime Fitness | This course covers topics geared to provide the student with a broader scope of team and individual sports along with fitness activities that are designed to develop lifelong physical activity. Activities that are covered include: golf, racquet sports (tennis, badminton), frisbee sports, outdoor recreation, introduction to strength training and physical conditioning activities. This class may be repeated for credit. |
| PE 402 | 11-12 | Strength & Conditioning | An upper level physical education class where students will be introduced to basic exercise anatomy and physiology. This class includes both classroom instruction and participatory application through regimented strength training and physical conditioning activities. This class may be repeated for credit. |
| PE 102 | 9-12 | Health | The curriculum in this course is broad in nature and focuses on three main themes: Physical, Mental/Emotional, and Social health. Units of study include basic body systems, physical activity and nutrition, achieving good mental health, stress management, and skills for healthy relationships. All topics are taught from a Christian perspective. |
