The first tournament for MRLH went really well! The Gig Harbor Invitational had students from 37 schools in attendance from all over Washington! |

Students who won at least one forensics round: |

| Chelsea G and Mariah S for varsity dual interpretation (an acting event) | |||
| David A for his novice original oratory (a persuasive speech) | |||
| Overall score receiving a superior distinction and a trophy | |||
| 3rd place- Jones B for a varsity interpretive reading on procrastination | |||
1st place- Jean L for a novice interpretive reading on choices |

6 students earned enough points to gain membership and a merit degree to the National Forensics League. (See NFL page for an update of NFL points.) |
|||
MRLH is an affiliate school of the National Forensics League (NFL.) The NFL is an education honor society for speech and debate. Students can earn a membership into the NFL by earning points at tournaments. |
